Re: River Stincher
What a nice 'gentle' scene [1st one].A perfect place for a Picnic.I would clone out the road signs I think. On the 2nd I can't figure out why the river bank is so blurred.Good advice I was given when attempting blurred water shots was to do it on a bright but overcast day.Taken when the sun is out the highlights on the water always get blown, and I have found that to be true on many occasions!!.Though I suppose using that HD technique may get round that problem?.

Re: River Stincher
thanx John, the waterfall is really Just something i was playing with,.. i made the water mono, brought the colour back in the banks, sharpened the rocks and blurred the banks and the water......... was an experiment lol. it was way to bright to be able to get the shot without burning, i guess the use of an ND filter would have helped but i dont have one. it perhaps isnt as sharp either in the original but i coldnt use my tripod and was in a very precarious position ( again) lol

.In this instance [blurred flowing water] a ND filter certainly gives access to slower shutter speeds but it is the bright sunlight that kills the highlight detail of the water.I have had manyyyyyyyyy examples of this myself

Re: River Stincher
Well done on the hand held Fi. Comments on your image in the gallery.
I did wonder if you were getting another 'wedgie' as you relased the shutter.

Fiona, you take the most beautiful landscapes! I've loved all the ones you've posted here. You seem to have a sense of balance and your pictures all have wonderful colors. Scotland must be a lovely place.
