Re: Rookhope - abandoned farmhouse
Why has it just been left in that state of disrepair? Pretty dangerous going in there ![]() Excellent photo's

Re: Rookhope - abandoned farmhouse
cheers...!
not sure why it's in that state, but there seems to be quite a few old buildings in the area in that way...I'm going to try and find out tho.. ![]() but looking at some of the light fittings etc - they seem to be from the 50/60s? |

Re: Rookhope - abandoned farmhouse
yeah, I became curious about the history of it so I sent a few emails and eventually I got a phonecall from a local councillor (who owns a neighbouring farmhouse) - the place is called waterside Cottage, but the councillor knows it as Churchside farm and has been empty for about 40 years but has been bought for about 300-325k by a sunderland painter and decorator called Billinghams(?)
an apparently some guy fell through a roof some time ago and died...! |

Re: Rookhope - abandoned farmhouse
HOW MUCH
has anyone told him that it needs more than a bit of painting and decorating ![]() By the way I really like the interior shots. Ruined places like this have always fascinated me. While the H&S Taliban here at work would not have approved of going inside I would have done it as well. |

Re: Rookhope - abandoned farmhouse
yeah, I was a bit nervous at first about going inside - moreso when going up the stares...!
I got a couple of frights when deep inside the wind blew some of the doors shut..! |
