Taken in my lounge when I was trying to work out how to use my flash gear, all comments welcomed.

awww dan that is is absolutely fabulous......... im not a flower fan but this is beautiful, if i had to be picky i would say the single leaf on the upper left is the only thing that either needs to go or needs to be seen in entirety.. but in saying that there is very few flower pictures that i could say i could look at for an age and this is one of them, the colours the clarity are simply stunning.........oh and coming form someone who absolutely hates roses thats a huge compliment! lol

That's a real beauty Dan, like that a lot. I looked at it for a while and then read Fi's comments. It was only when she said it that I even noticed the leaf at the top so I don't think you need to worry about it. The petals are the centre of attention and they have gorgeous colours. Absolutely excellent shot. :o)

Professional lurker here. Not much tempts me to post, but I just had to say, that is an incredible shot.

Well everyone, I was quite pleased with this shot before I posted it but you'd better stop saying nice things before I get big headed

Humpty, glad to lure you out from lurker shade. If you click on the image it'll take you to my site where all the exif is listed.

If I remember correctly this was taken with a single light and a softbox I had a bit of black material a little way behind the flower and I may have used a bit of white card as a reflector to lift the shadows.
