thought i'd comment here. i love what you have captured here, the side on view with anther and stigma clearly shown, vertical depth of flower ,interesting shape of petals ( really like the wavey shape) . underside view , detail of green sepals. great flower great shot

Yes, the wavey shapes of the side-on petals + detail in the underside is what I was after here, so am glad you noticed that

You have indeed made a good capture here Charlotte, but I'm not keen on the stems/leaves dominating the shot. Makes me wonder what the subject is with this composition. I like the BG colour which adds to the image in a discrete way.

Thanks Graham. I completely agree with you about the stems/leaves. I did tone them down (colour + texture) as much as I could in p-p, but they do still dominate, don't they.

I like what you have done here Charlotte and I like the blue BG but one problem does need sorting: there is a blue colour cast on the white petals, probably being picked up from the BG. Lose that (easy enough in PS) and the rest works very nicely indeed. I am not a big lover of FG blurring but I think you get away with it here, it does feel ok.

What first hit me about this image is the simple but wonderful colours - a lovely combination! I'm normally not a huge fan of floral shots but this one could turn me!
