I recognise that, I was there about 18 months ago, the weather looks like it never changes
![]() I have done a quick edit on your picture unfortunately until our galleries are sorted I have no way of displaying it...what I did was level the shot to get the horizon straight, crop to a horizontal panoramic using the line of the bank on the bottom left to become the bottom of the shot and cropping the top to just below the very top of the tree top closest to camera. After that I converted it to black and white as I think this shot has an old feel to it and then adjusted the levels and curves slightly. The shot has a great deal of potential and can be made to work in many different ways. HTH

Great shot Janice, created a lovely feeling. The building does seem to lean ever so slightly and probably accentuated by the angle on the foreground bank. I would also have a look at cropping out the foreground bank and trees on the left altogether. A levels or curves adjust and although the muted colours are great I think it would look equally as good in B/W.
Great work. Ken. |

Very nice - good composition, and great location, gives an air of real tranquility - must be amazing when the weather is warmer.
Only advice - others have mentioned already, slight tilt, and possibly try a mono version. Thanks for sharing

As the gallery is working now, here is the very quick and dirty edit I did. I am positive that someone like Dave or Bachs can do a much better job than I did though.

Janice a lovely soft moody picture and again the right raw material to post process. I like the panoramic approach with less bland sky either in colour or mono. Isn't Steve taking enough these days so he is using you as his legman or should that be legperson?

Great shot janice, lovely composition. I live within a 45 minute drive of here, and hope to visit during this summer.

A darker moody version for ya.....not to everyone's taste but hey
. Needs more work but gives the idea. Did try a more clinical conversion where the picture realy "popped" but realised it was going against inital shot, so went for more subdued & lots of grain. Great shot btw

I've looked at this shot loads and whilst it has a lovely haunting beauty, there was something not sitting quite right for me. In the end I decided it was the sky, a bit too flat to have so much of it. For my taste that is of course.
So, like the rest of the world, I thought I'd have a very quick play..... and here it is.
