On the sea front in August.
Ok folks first batch from working on my MAC.
These were taken way back at the end of August on a trip up to see me folks in Lowestoft, although I took my main camera and bits, but on this day I didn't feel like lugging it all around so I took just my Fuji Finepix S7000 with me. All edits were done in Elements three which is great fun to use after the full on CS. Pic one. ![]() Camera S7000, ISO 160, Shutter 1/800, App f8 Pic two. ![]() Camera S7000, ISO 160, Shutter 1/680, App f8 Pic three. ![]() Camera S7000, ISO 160, Shutter 1/450, App f7 All C&C's are most welcome, many thanks for taking the time to look

Re: On the sea front in August.
I love the contrast, simplicity and layout of shot 2. What great cloud formations to give you an excellent background!!
I would remove the first person in the lower left of the frame though

Re: On the sea front in August.
I agree, number two is a cracker. I don't agree about the person being removed though. I would have if the person was pointing to the left, ie out of the picture, but as he is looking into the scene, I think he works perfectly ok. I would agree he might be better a centimentre further into the picture (could easily clone him further in) but I don't think he interferes as he is now. What do others think?
Cheers, Rob |

Re: On the sea front in August.
The person attracts your attention and draws your eyes to the bottom left of the frame and almost out of the shot, that is why it should be removed IMO

Re: On the sea front in August.
Nice set of shots Davey
I'm following the tribe with my praise of shot no.2, that sky is just wonderful. As for the debate, I lke both lol. The eye certainly moves freely around the frame with the people removed, but it looses a bit of it's sense of scale without them in the shot. 6 of 1...

Re: On the sea front in August.
I love to see human interaction and the removal, done beautifully, does just feel like an empty beach now. As the eye generally goes to bright points in a picture first, here we usually look straight at those lovely cumulus clouds then the eye drops down to the beach and the foam of the waves. Then the eye searches around the picture, only then did I actually notice the person at all.
Come on Steve, gloves off ... outside.... Great shot with or without <~~~ ever the diplomat :o) |
