The Singing Ringing Tree
This is one of four Panopticons being built in East Lancs. This one is just above Burnley facing Pendle Hill. I only just managed these before the rain came down. It's called that because they cut notches in the pipes so that it makes sounds as the wind blows through...very eerie.

Re: The Singing Ringing Tree
What about from St Helens? Hoping that I wouldn't use a full tank!
Facing Pendle Hill? Boulsworth Hill? Better yet, what junction? |

Re: The Singing Ringing Tree
No worries - head to Blackburn and get on the M65 to Burnley. Just before Burnley centre take the A682 to Rawtenstall. At the edge of Burnley turn left at the The Bull pub and go about a mile. You'll see the Tree.

Re: The Singing Ringing Tree
Wow, what an interesting subject! Nice shots, too!
I really should start a list of these neat things you guys post for when I finally get my butt over to the UK! You've all got me fascinated with all the places you shoot!!! Seriously cool.
