Single Snowdrop

I thought I'd stick this one here as there are quite a few snowdrops in the critique thread already. I also wanted to see what people thought as, contrary to what it might look like, I have made absolutely no adjustments whatsoever other than obviously resizing and vignetting the edge to give it a frame. Unusual that I do absolutely nothing but please just trust me on this, that shot came straight from the camera.... and I really like it.

That's just lovely, Rob. I'll even not mention the Dof!

I like the natural background too - it adds a lot to the shot.

very nice crisp shot with lovely DOF, just one thing your crop is a little to tight maybe

ok will try again.. this is a phenomenal shot although i have to agree with dave in that for my taste it may be slightly too tight.... saying that it does work.,, DoF as always is spot on ( can u ever do anything wrong?) lolol

It's lovely Rob! Although would agree that a slightly wider crop might set it off a bot more?

I haven't cropped it! I have only vignetted the edges as it was, so there was no way to give it more space. The amount of vignetting hasn't taken much off at all, just ten pixels in total, half of which is still there to a certain extent.

Glad you like the shot as a whole though. Getting in really close with a small aperture gave me a tiny DoF to work with, pulling back would have given me more but would not have given the same effect. Also there were lots of other snowdrops all around so I wanted this to be a shot of just one, if that makes sense.

Crop is fine for me, DOF and background really make the flower leap out.
