Re: skyscape in Morocco

Love the detail in clouds. Can I see a main road in the foreground, as it gives an impression of scale ?

Re: skyscape in Morocco

What an astounding sky you've captured, wonderful colours TFS

Looks like a 17-40L might have to be ordered, not sure I'd find it wide enough on my 350D though.

Regards,
Iain.

Re: skyscape in Morocco

Fantastic shot Erick, possibly my personal favourite out of all of your shots that I have seen here or anywhere else on the net.

I have a 17-40L lens but unfortunately, not a full frame camera. I still find it to be one of my favourite lenses.

I would not discount using the 17-40 on your 350D, I have one and have used it on both the old 10D and my current 20D and it has always served me well even with the 1.6x crop factor. Pop into a Jessops or your local dealer and try it on the camera to see the field of view, that way you can make an informed decision. If you find it wide enough, I can guarantee you will be blown away by the quality.

Far from it Steve, it's just a concern at the moment. It's between that and the 10-22 but the 17-40 is actually the lens I'd rather have... L = great build quality, image quality and compatability as going full frame does interest me (allthough that won't be for a long while).

Thankfully I can do better than that (our Jessops is a nightmare), a friend has the 10-22 and has agreed to let me have a morning's shooting with it, so plenty of shots at the wide end to see just how good it is, and plenty at 17mm to see if I could live with that width.

p.s. Sorry for hijacking the thread a bit

Re: skyscape in Morocco

It would be great to see your results and read your thoughts after you have had chance to use the 10-22

Re: skyscape in Morocco

I shall not buy a EF-S lens ... if you want to upgrade to FF one day, and days are coming when the FF are cheaper

I agree with Steve the 17-40 is really a lens to own
the 50 mm 1.8 too :-)

if you buy it on line in Germany (if you are in Europea) they have really a good price
