Snow – German Style
ALL pictures taken after manually setting white balance at the location, so if you see blue snow it is because it was.

Wow - very nice, really like the third pic with the sun high in the sky. Like the flare - not over done as usually happens to me. Also retained the foreground detail.
I'm guessing you must have used a filter of some sort? |

Love all of those, especially #3. Is the sun faked, though?

Stunning locations Steve - but I still only like snow in pictures ... brrr ! I can almost feel the cold there ... brilliant stuff very well executed in all cases !
Is the church in the last slightly off vertical or is it me ? |

Steve, I have an EOS300D is it possible to tell the camera to use a photo as a white calibration point like you did, and if so do you know how off hand?
Cheers |

You can expect blue snow in the shadows because it's a reflection from the blue sky. The snow in direct sunlight should be white as Steve's is here, so as long as you take your WB shot from the sunlit parts you should get good snow!

Another Great set Steve, but I have a couple of small nits.
Image #1 the trees are leaning to the left, which gives me the impression that the horizon isn't straight (even though its out of view). Also the whole scene looks undisturbed apart from the little blob of snow in the bottom left corner, which is slightly distracting. Great use of the trees for framing. I would have cropped a bit from the left myself, so there's no space between the tree and the border. image #3 This is a great shot Steve, which I think could have done without the signs of man disturbing it. Best wishes Matt |

Pure class.
I'm throwing my camera in the bin and resigning from all forums. |
