Snowy Scenes....
A couple from the recent bout of weather, they were both very much quick snaps, the snow had just started coming down again, and I didn't feel like finding out snow resistant my 350D was!!!!!
1. ![]() 2. ![]() I feel with the bench a lower view point may have been more effective. I searched every where for a tree with absolutely nothing in the background to no avail, sothis was as good as it got!!! What do people think??? Matt Last edited by mouldy101; 10-02-2007 at 01:20. |

Re: Snowy Scenes....
Not bad Matt
I think the 1st one would have benefitted not from a lower viewpoint, but rather if you'd moved to the R a bit so that the bench led the eye all the way to the break in the trees; as it is, it stops short + has thus lost its lead-in qualities. Also, I'm interested to see what was to the left, out of the frame. The bottom LH corner of the frame would have benefitted from a tree-line to close the circuit; empty as that corner is, it leaves the image unbalanced. A coupla steps to the right would've fixed all this. 2nd one: Love the tree, but a bit blinded by the sky. I like the BG trees, they give perspective to the tree. Excellent exposure in both, + aside from my niggles, I love these shots PS Another suggested viewpoint for the 1st one: A slightly higher viewpoint to angle the far top end of the bench toward + just touching the snow on the ground, rather than coming to a sudden halt at a level that is halfway up a tree trunk. Remembering, as always, these are my visions, which might be completely silly to anyone else

Re: Snowy Scenes....
Thanks for your comments Charlotte.
I agree a lower viewpoint with 1 will have helped, if only to show the legs of the bench. To the left of the image was a childrens play area, which I wasn't keen on including, hence why it may have been difficult to move any further to the right!! I agree that ideally this would have used the bench to greater efftect as a 'lead in'. The sky in the 2nd one is bright, and i need to have a play in ps to tone it down a bit. Thanks for taking the time to comment!!! Matt |
