Some more I wanted to share.....
Being as though the level of posts is quite low at the moment I thought I spam-up the forum a while. Bit of a mixed bag these,
some are processing work I've done for others and some are pics I took ages ago and have only just got round to showing or processing. Unfortunately I can't find the original files for the processing I for other people so you can't compare them, But I like them anyway ![]() ![]() ![]() I'm not particularly happy with the two that aren't framed, just matted. They are older photo's and I'd be interested to know what you all think........ Comments & harsh critiscm welcome as long as it's justified! |

I don't see much deserving of criticism there - harsh or otherwise. They're all good, including the two unframed versions. I like the second of these - it's beautifully processed. OK there's a lot of foreground, and it's a shame there aren't footprints leading off into the distance or something else to add foreground interest, but I still like it.

Some great shots there Gahndi, the lone yacht one really stands out for me though. Top work.

Cheers guys,
The full size version of the yacht shot is a 2' x 8" panorama, I'm just waiting for my mate to come and get the cd with it on and print it for me! I suspect it'll probably get sold in his shop. Now how much commission should I charge ??

Alas, not one of my pictures! It was a processing job I did for a friend when he came back from scotland with too many images to sort himself, and as I was unemployed at the time, I had plenty of time to PP them for him. I know it was taken on a Nikon D70, not sure of the lens but I suspect it was the kit lens. no, just found the EXIF still embedded in my large version. It was shot at 1/1000 at f8, 200ISO, 95mm on a 70-300mm lens (poss sigma) I think the reason it looks that way is, if I remember correctly, that it was a fair old crop and the image appeared quite noisy to my eye, especially after I'd fiddled with white balance, levels, saturation etc. So it was run through noise ninja, hence the loss of detail that makes it look like along exposure maybe, It may also be that the Lens itself is quite soft. I'll try and find the original later as it's been archived on a dvd somewhere and post it for you all to peruse! |

now how lucky was that!!!!
first dvd I lay my hand on?
So there are the originals of the 3 I PP'd for my mates. I've also just stumbled across some amusing snaps the 10 day mission to the Hebrides that I may post when I decide to resize them! |

Hey! Nice to see some photos of the Western Isles. I'm from Stornoway (on Lewis...dunno if you want that far north) but live in Edinburgh now. I keep meening to get back up for a wee photography trip but can never get back during the summer months. Very nice shots. Brings back lots of fond memories of my youth

Actually went well past Stornoway, to gearrigh (sp?) but not as far as the Butt of Lewis (stop sniggering at the back) It was good fun as we were there for the Summer Solsrice, so had no night to speak of for a week, it's well spooky light at 3 in the morning!

Nice one. Some great photo ops up there round every corner.
Spelling was nearly right. Gearraidh...pronounced "Garry". ![]() We used to have school trips to the beach there all the time when I was a nipper. |

lucky bugger.
True about the photo-ops around every corner. I've been thinking about borrowing a mates camper van and spending a couple of months up there next year. Just need to find an outlet for all the photo's i'll have afterwards. Been thinking about tourist board, postcard manf., etc. but not sure if I can get it together enough to sort it. Much more practise needed too!
