Some old work

These are shots I took quite a while ago using a D50 and 18-70mm. I plan on getting a D80 with an 18-70mm so I can start taking some new pics, but here are a couple that are worth looking at, I think.

The lightning was taken free-hand, no tripod. I don't remember the settings since it was so long ago. This is a pretty close crop because the lightning was pretty far away. I took 400 shots that night to try and capture lightning, and 4 came out, this one being the best.

The Squirrel pic was taken at a local park. Again, same camera and same lens.

The Kevlar helmet pic was taken at a local Armed Forced Day exhibit.

The Seagull was at the same park, same day as the Squirrel.

These are pretty rough and heavily "JPEGed" and were some of my first pics... ever. I lost about 200 great pics when my computer died, so these are all I have left. Until I take more with the D80 once I get it, these are all I have for right now. Well, your suggestions will not fall on deaf ears, so if you have any, feel free to speak up

Re: Some old work

Have moved this into Photo Sharing as the rules for Critique section allow just one photo per day.

Re: Some old work

Hi SgtD, I had to break one of the links to your photo at it was over the size limit here at Pixalo, please keep all future uploads under the limit, thanks

For reference the limit is 1000pix along the longest edge and a file size no bigger than 200kb.
