Some reprocessed shots Part 1....from Liverpool, Anglesey and others

Since last year I've been going through all my shots, and starting afresh, picking out those I like and setting them aside, reprocessing them for the upcoming launch of my website.

Here are 6 of the earlier ones I've reprocessed (so not likely to have put in a thread here). So wonder what you lot think. Not *just* of the shot, but any processing skills that you might notice

Anyway, thoughts, good and bad always welcome....Im a big boy, I can take it

Taken on a jolly outing with Steve up 'owd betts, in Oct 03. I think this was one of the very last shots with my Fuji 2800, before I bought the G3.
(Hey Steve, remember the b******ing we got from the farmer for waking his dogs up )

Sale Water Park, on an early October Morning 03. This has had a bit of photoshop work, mainly with levels (selective) and bringing the colour out in certain areas where it was quite dull. Had only had my G3 a couple of weeks.

Taken on er, thingy wind farm (Near Todmorden).
And boy was it bloody windy.

The Ferry across the Mersey, November 03. Absolutely gorgeous sunset.

Taken in Anglesey, December 03, on a jolly outing with Steve and digitalfailure. A thoroughly enjoyable day (if a touch cold).

Next to Sale Water park, on yet another jolly outing with Steve..lol
I had actually deleted the lot of this mornings shoot, but decided to give them a last minute reprieve from the recycle bin. Only bothered to try and process it this time round, and I actually like it now, the way the sunlight is bursting through both sides, and behind the trees too (to the left) and also highlighting the foreground.

If none of these float your boat, please feel free to say so

Regards

I like 1 through 4 with the first shot being top notch! It's very simple but it works well. The last two don't float my boat as you say,lol I'm not even sure what the focal point is of the last one, my eyes just wander around the pic to be honest.

I have always liked the first shot which I seen in your gallery. I really like the last shot here, shooting into the sun like that is very hard to get foreground detail and you certainly got everything spot on there. The rays coming through the branches are what help set it off for me.

Hi, i like number 2 and the wind turbines but 1&2 have noticeable sharpening halos so try turning sharpening down a bit or by using a different method. Cheers

Thanks for the comments and the kind words (And the criticism too, it's always needed )

Re : The sharpening halo's and the first two shots. Afraid to say you're all wrong But that's my fault for being deceptive, and you'd be forgiven to think that they were sharpening halos and my fault.

The first one, the halo is in the original. Not as bad as it ended up though. I don't think, but certainly there. I think it's because it was taken as a JPEG on my Fuji 2800. That's the only original I have to play with. My processing didn't help matters I suppose.

Here's the original, so I'd appreciate your thoughts, not only on the halo but the comparison of the shots.
When I had my gallery online before at my domain, this was certainly the most popular of my shots.

The second, the halos you see around the jetty posts are as a result of my poor selecting / feathering while adjusting, and sharpening / resizing has accentuated them.
I've taken the original TIFF (well my master anyway), and had another go. I've stopped flattening the image recently, before saving the master, but this was one that was already flattened in the final version, so I had to basically clone the bad outline out....

You may need to do a forced refresh, I've renamed the halo'd version above, so the one you see here may be the originally 'oversharpened' one, if that makes sense.

Hehe that's one that I think will not be reprocessed. Purely for the fact that it's too recent. It's currently saved as a Master TIFF, rather than a shoddy JPEG from a few years ago, and I haven't learnt much new since it, so I wouldn't benefit from doing it with fresh eyes.

Needless to say, it's certainly going to be included in the final line-up
