I like the second shot. There's a lovely range of tones there. Are you still using film?

He did actually, he posted his link earlier in the critique forum and in the process of moving it for him I managed to nuke it.

I PM'd him though and we got it sorted.

Thanks for the comments,

I think the 5th image is slightly oversized and it pushes the thumbs off the bottom of the window, and as it's a flash-based site for some reason it won't resize the screen properly.

CT sorry, didn't mean to drop you in it! I'm just about to make the transition from film to digital as my ancient minolta xd5 has died. I do like film but it's so expensive and to be honest, I think the quality of alot of digicams now is great for my needs at the mo. Just spent a week in spain playin with my g/f's kodak point n shoot digi and it's ok, no manual and a bit oversaturated, but I think I'm gonna go the dslr route or get the new panasonic FZ30 when it's out next month. I like the idea of having that nice leica elmarit lens for a start, also don't really want to be lugging tonnes of gear around.

Btw... The black and white images were shot on C41 process b&w film (xp2 and Kodak bw400cn) hence the colour casts. no photoshop alterations.

I used a Nikon compact for a while and it produced good results, but the damned menu screens were really complicated and a real PITA! The 20D is a joy in comparison, it's very easy to pick up and use intuitively, and it's great to be focusing on ground glass again.

I remember Patrick Lichfield being a real die hard film man and rubbishing digital cameras - probably deservedly so at that time - but I saw him interviewed the other night where he said he went digital a few years back and can't remember the last time he loaded a film. I think once you've made the transition, there's no going back.
