Re: something completely different
Interesting Fiona! I like the first one although, and it's just me being dense, I don't get the "noise" bit!

Re: something completely different
I did see the strings and understood what you were trying to say Fi, but sorry, I don't think it comes across. Now, if you got someone to run their hands over the strings and took a slow shot of the strings vibrating, THAT might make a big difference.
So to the first two, love the first esepcially and a great idea. I see poor Alan still has the tripod on his back! The second one is just a tad tight cropped. After all, I know the lovely Alan and, sorry Alan, he wouldn't reach the top of anything! My mian question is this: because we are photographers and because I saw Alan looking exactly like that last week, I know he has a tripod on his back in the bag. But would other non-photographers know that or would they simply be distracted by 'What's that he's got sticking out of his back?' I think the technique is an excellent one and you've done it really well. It's worth doing some more with and careful thought to the outlines silhouetted will provide some very striking images. Just as an aside, did you take the picture via a reflection, a set up on self-timer or did you get Murray in on the act for the first one? Great work and good to see that imagination of yours being given a good workout.... it is paying dividends :o) Cheers, Rob

Re: something completely different
the pics were taken at a light and sound room in New lanark which means i cant go back and do them again.. i didint know the room had the shadow things in them so no planning was done.nor as u can see was the tripod used. so it was a matter of OMG i have to shoot this quick alter the white balance and get the shot! lol i actually wanted to try to get me sideways but funnily enough i couldnt take the pic unless the camera was pointing at the canvas! the fact that alans hand is at the top is cos it was actually at the top ( ok then his SHADOW was at the top! ) and i didint want it being cluttered with the background which was pretty messy/ busy.
thanx for the comments i didint think anyone would like these pics to be honest! lol should add that we were not behind the cancas we were infront of it and the light was behind us so no Murray was involved and no need for a self timer. that is me taking the photo! lol Fi |

Re: something completely different
I have said it before and I shall say it again.
Fi, you have such a wide range, you are so willing to try new things that are wildly different. I think that you see things with a different eye than us mere mortals. As you might have guessed, I am truly impressed!!!!!!!!! skip |

Re: something completely different
How can you say you lack imagination Fi? If that were the case you would never have considered trying this shot.... I have been to these shadow wall things several times and it has never once occured to me to take a picture... looks like I am the one without the imagination!
