Somewhere Around the lakes

Apologies firstly as for the life of me I can't recall what this place is called. All I remember is it is past Ashness Bridge (Keswick) following the track until the end, to be greeted with this view.
Taken last year (in the English summer months) on a misty, windy and rainy afternoon. Shot with the Canon kit lens (18-55mm) and is an hdr of 6 shots.

As always.....C&C Welcome and appreciated.
TFL.

Re: Somewhere Around the lakes

Yet another brilliant HDR that doesn't scream 'HDR' but captures the atmosphere very well indeed. The fluidity of the water contrasts nicely with the sharpness of the masonry and foliage.

Re: Somewhere Around the lakes

purely my own taste but i feel that the big black border is taking away alot of the attention of a very very good photo ..
apart from that i love it..
well done

Re: Somewhere Around the lakes

I guess its distance haze but I think the lower half of the pic is too strong and overpowers the cooler tones in the hills and sky in the background.

Can't fault the idea for the pic, lovely composition but just think it needs either foreground to be desaturated or the background brought out some more.

Re: Somewhere Around the lakes

Silkstones comment sums it up for me, it doesn't scream HDR, it looks right and natural. It's also very well composed.

Re: Somewhere Around the lakes

this picture makes me want to visit europe....

the ONLY thing i noticed was the fog? or mist to the right of the tree....it kind of brings my attention there....maybe a little burning and this would be a perfect picture
