Re: Sonsey's Plane
It's good but I think the original is better!

Re: Sonsey's Plane
I think the lost cloud details are the killer.

Re: Sonsey's Plane
I realise this is a bit of an extreme conversion I was just playing and trying to get the best from those trails, in doin so yup lost the cloud shame, you can't win them all

Re: Sonsey's Plane
Thanks for that Lee
I like the idea of the conversion, really makes the plane stand out. I'm no mono expert but I think because of the detail in certain area's of the shot and the low resolution it's being displayed at could make it tough to do a quick conversion, which might be the reason for loss of detail in the clouds and pixalation in the now dark sky (on my monitor anyway). By all means though keep having a play with it (and anyone else who wants to) as I think it has good potential to become a nice mono shot

Re: Sonsey's Plane
OK, had to have a go seeing as I was cheeky enough to say it would make a nice Mono
![]() ![]() - Converted to Mono using CM at 100% Red - In Levels brought left hand slider in towards centre to darken the blacks - Very subtle comni light added to plane - Ran through noise filter ..& that was it, nice & simple. Obviously would look even better from original size shot |

Re: Sonsey's Plane
Could've sworn I'd replied to this!
Thanks for that Dave, very good conversion as you've managed to keep the detail in the plane, the vapour trail, the moon and the clouds... especially considering you were working with a low res shot, cheers mate |
