Woooo, weird effect there in the background on the grass!
So is that a hybrid red/grey skquerl? |

lol, wasn't suggesting that mate! But I think he's a bit of a cross.
As far as saturation goes I think halfway between the two would look best. Also, if you have time, try a crop at 2x3 in landscape that puts him on the lower lefthand third. |

Thanks SammyC.
I will have another play later and see if I can improve it. What does the exposure & sharpening look like?........as the first one maybe seems a little oversharpened to me now. |

Try backing them both off a little, can be easy to get carried away with them!

Maybe the first one had a *little* too much saturation, but I still definately prefer it over the less saturated version.
Definately agree with the crop, I did this in a squirrel shot of mine on here a couple of months ago, after similar advice, and the end result was much more pleasing. |

Yes.. saturation somewhere between the two would work for me.
![]() Those circular doughnut shaped oof highlights in the background are usually a dead give away that a cat (mirror) lens has been used, although the 'doughnuts' would tend to be even more pronounced. It's not unknown though for some none -mirror lenses to occasionally produce the effect under certain circumstances, the 100-400L being one. |

I'd say it could take a little more saturation if you wanted it to. Just compare it to the others and you'll see the first one seems to glow and the second one looks grey.
The crop is much better, puts the young chap in context! ![]() |
