St Ives Bridge, Cambridgeshire.

I braved the fog and frost last night to take this HDR shot (sorry if HDR is not your cup of tea). I was hoping for more fog and mist, but it seemed to be the only location anywhere in the country that wasn't a pea souper, it seemed to lift just as I arrived at the location. The picture was taken with my new camera, a Nikon D300. Still trying to get to grips with it. Live view in tripod mode is a particularly useful feature of this camera and came in really handy, especially when using manual focus.

I'm just seeing a big white box with 'This photograph is currently unavailable' and the flickr logo.

Re: St Ives Bridge, Cambridgeshire.

I can see it and it's a lovely bridge, I been past it many times over the years. I would be tempted to crop a bit top and bottom, to really focus in on the bridge and reflection and maybe a slight clockwise rotation? Can't really tell at this size, but the focus and sharpness look good.

Live view is a bonus isn't it? I've got it on the Canon 40D and use it no end.

Thanks, I tried a crop top and bottom but the bridge looked too thin. I decided to leave half an inch of darkness top and bottom to give it some perspective. Not too sure about the clockwise rotation? The bridge is naturally curved and may give the impression that it is slightly skew wiff.

Re: St Ives Bridge, Cambridgeshire.

Interesting shot. I wonder if you could bring just a touch more light into the top of the tower area just to strengthen it as it sort of disappears into the BG sky as it is. The rest is strong and a good sharp reflection.

Cheers,
Rob
