Re: Stamens.....
How much did you pay for the extension tubes Stepheno ? Do you find them easy to use. Can't really justify a dedicated macro lens, but as I already have the 50mm

Re: Stamens.....
£60 for a Jessops set of three, from Ebay (I think they are £75 new) . You can get very cheapies on Ebay but beware, they don't have contact points. Like you, Dave, I can't justify a macro lens yet and they are a doddle to use. I think the tubes and my Mk1 50mm are my best buys off Ebay.

Re: Stamens.....
I have to agree with the coments on the extention tubes, for the money they open up a whole new world of photography for us to play in...great shots mate
![]() The first seems just a little dark (it is bright in here though so that might be why) but I am losing a tiny amount of detail from the shadow areas...I'll check again tonight when the suns not streaming through the window in this room

Re: Stamens.....
Bumping this coz dave pointed me to it in another thread...
I was wondering what effect these had on the minimum focussing distance. I.E. what was your lenses MFD then what is it with each of the extension tubes. I'm looking to get the kenko ones. they have the contacts to allow AF, metering etc. THK Photo Products, Inc. |

Re: Stamens.....
Hi OP. The MFD of the 50mm I used is 18inches. Now I've got it written down somewhere about the MFD with tubes so I'll have to dig it out but with all three you can get pretty damn close and it'll give you 1:1. Only problem is that the DOF goes haywire so you need to be shooting small objects when using all three tubes. HTH.
