Re: Stepping Stones

On the second shot, longish exposure, would a figure crossing the stones have helped?.A slightly ghostly figure because of movement/exposure time?.In fact if you used a tripod that ghostly figure coulkd have been yourself!!.Nice shot anyway

Re: Stepping Stones

I like both shots, but i am getting distracted with what looks like sensor dirt on both images. The dark spot occurs at the same point in the frame on both images making me think it's not something in the landscape, but on the camera. It is almost dead centre from left to right and about a quarter of the way up from the bottom of the frame.

I'd clone it out, then think about cleaning your camera sensor, have a search of this web-site, plently of posts on this subject specifically using the Copperhill method.

Dirt on the sensor is made worse using a smaller aperture (higher number), and i am guessing you had to use a fairly small aperture to get the blur in the water as it looks like a bright day (either that or ND filters). In fact i have just noticed that you used f29 in the second image which would figure for the dust.
I'm sure you know all of this already though!

Re: Stepping Stones

Definitely the second one works best, lovely shot. And no, I don't want the greenery out of the way, it adds a lovely splash of colour to the left corner which would otherwise be a dark area of water. The green balances diagonally the green foliage in the other corner.

Yup, you have got a little bit of muck on your sensor, looks like it would blow easily with a hurricane blower, shouldn 't need to go all out with a swab or anything.

Great pics again. Well done Stevie.

Cheers,
Rob
