Still waiting for the welders

Missed them again last night, by the time i had finshed my job and got to them, they had nearly finshed, rushed the setup and chopped the heads off and half of the weld pot, anyways it serves as a lesson, but it did give me a chance to try out a few pointers that have been shared with me on here, ie white balance, shotting in raw, getting behind the light etc



hopfully i will get the shot tonight.

Loads better exposure though - you're getting there. I can see why you're getting the really big light trails now - I ddn't realise it wasn't hand welding.

What are they actually welding - it looks like track joints, I thought they had to have a gap for expansion?

its the track they are welding, and yes you are right, they do need expansion joints, but thats only every 1 1/4 miles..... i think.
