Stormy Weather and where not to Stand

Wild wild day here yesterday.

A couple from the afternoon.
#1

And this is what happens if you stand to take photos with your mobile phone and a wave sneaks over where you are not expecting it.

If the guy and some of the shot look blurred as if shot through water then that is because it was shot through water.

#2
Thanks for looking

Nice ones, full of action. I'd crop a little out of the foreground on #1.

Re: Stormy Weather and where not to Stand

As the first shot came up Roger, I could only see down to an inch above the bottom of the sht and I thought it looked great. Then I scrolled the screen up and saw the extra bit and just thought 'What's that there for?' Definitely wants getting rid of as it adds nothing to the shot and distracts the attention from where it should be. Take that off and you've got a terrific sht there

I love the feel of the 2nd one but again would crop an inch off the left. Keep the wall but not the first part of it. It's got a tremendous blurriness to it which really works great in this shot.

Lovely work so grab the cropper ... better than coming one like the guy in that second shot LOL

Cheers,
Rob

Re: Stormy Weather and where not to Stand

Will get cropping. Thanks for the advice. Set to 5fps so filled a 2GB card in a short time to try and catch the action. Plenty more to look at yet.
Cheers folks

Re: Stormy Weather and where not to Stand

Another shot at these.
Tighter crop on both and a bit more work in CS2.

The one of the guy on the pier was taken about 10 secs before the one above. He was well placed to take shots of the waves coming over the end wall but got caught out when one came over the side wall. I was well back but still spent as much time shielding my gear as I did taking photos.

Thanks for loking and for your comments as always.

Just spotted the fortnightly theme. Should have put one of these up for that.
