Sunset at Elora Gorge, Ontario

Oh, and by the way, these were taken at the end of last winter as we have no snow here yet! It's going to be a green Christmas.

Love the second shot, really excellent treatment. First one is ok but dog is too central. Maybe crop the right side to push him over a bit. Don't get me wrong, it's ok as a picture but I LOVE the second one :o)

Thanks Rob! It was so funny that day. Geordie was sitting not even looking at the camera but he was intent on watching some squirrels over to the right under a tree and just as I clicked the camera, he came running and screeching to a halt as he thought I was going to leave him.
The second one was taken just to the right of the first and the sun had disappeared in the gorge but was shining brightly on the oak tree--thus the crazy colours. I put that one on my Christmas cards this year. |

Interesting images.
To me the second one looks very manipulated, even though there is no mention. The forground trees look posterized (I am not sure that is the right term), like a cartoon, too sharp. Weird effect. skip skip |

Hi Skip... I can see your point but no manipulation took place. I uploaded my original image right from my camera with only words added to the lower left for my Christmas Card this year as the others that I tried were not recommended resolution for printing so I just uploaded the original. This one I posted was resized to 900 pixels high, border added and then resized again to 900 pixels once again.

Still, a weird effect. Interesting and very pretty, but then again, light does some strange things, and the camera sees things differently from mere mortals
