I was at Thurso for the weekend and got some shots of a surfing contest. These guys are nuts, it was bl**** freezing.
My 100-400mm was not long enough, I told my wife that I need a 600mm lens. You can imagine the answer I got. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Great action shots, especially the last. What's in the background on the last two, I know Scotland can be a bit cold but that looks like an ice flow!
Have you tried a 1.4x on that lens, I've read varying reports on the internet but when I tried with a friends 100-400 I got pretty reasonable results. I'm hoping to do some testing when mine is delivered. Shots 2 and 3 have a slightly surreal look, any idea what's caused that (I've seen it in my images when I've overused a noise reduction filter).
