Swans, Dragons & Knights
Couple of shots from early Sat morning - all Canon 350D + 100-400mm with 1.4x TC
Misted Swan Cosmeston had a lovely mist rising from the lake ![]() Backlit Swan This was the type of shot I'd turned up to take - with the early morning sun colouring the swans. Not entirely successfully, I have to admit! Next time! ![]() Dragon View Was pretty pleased to get this - with the 100-400mm + 1.4x, so focussing (manual) was fun and games! ![]() Combat! Cosmeston Medieval Village had a theme day with all manner of people dressed up in period costume - the fighting contingent were practising (and those swords were no messing metal!). Good to see equality dating back to those days! ![]() ![]() Fisher Folk Well I'm assuming they're meant to be fisherwomen as that's a coracle and fish traps leaning against the wall ![]() All comments - good, bad, indifferent, are all welcome! TFL!

always blown away by the great color you shoot, like the dargon fly and the girls talking, great colors again.

Re: Swans, Dragons & Knights
I did not realise we could post pictures 800 X 600.
Nobody tells me anything around here.

Re: Swans, Dragons & Knights
#2 works for me and #3 is a cracker although I would crop a little off the left.
Soupy - size limit 1000 pixels here. If a third person tells you that it must be true - or Lewis Carroll.

Re: Swans, Dragons & Knights
I'd like to think that was a good excuse for my pictures not having as much impact as some!
Having thought longer on the subject, that must be why, cos all my pictures are souper! |

Markulous:
Asides your own, what body have you got dangling off the end of that lens/extender combo? |

Re: Swans, Dragons & Knights
And thanks for the comments, everyone!
Think a little off LHS works well, Silky. Cheers! Was hesitant to crop it down more (already lost 20% from FF) as it emphasises that the detail isn't as strong as it could be! |

Re: Swans, Dragons & Knights
That first one is absolutely beautiful. Just showed my wife and she agreed we'd have that on our wall in a heartbeat!
Photographically it would be easy to pick holes in it, the bright horizontal a bit strong or whatever. But sometimes you just have to say 'sod the rules' and go with the image... and that image is gorgeous :o) Cheers, Rob |
