Tidy bird found in Bath.......
well,
seems to be a day for one sort of bird or another, so I thought I'd join in. Found this 10 pound 2yr old Golden Eagle being pimped around the streets of Bath today. Best thing is, it's the handlers own bird, and he takes it hang-gliding with him. Now lets see a dog/cat/tarantula do that!

Superb shot! I like that a lot!
Having said that, isn't the tip of the beak a little out of focus? That must be a really fast lens! |

Great focus on the eye & use of DOF. Feathers appear a bit desaturated ...was that the light ? ...in fact they give an appearance like a painting. Great shot
...although I've seen fitter birds in my visits to Bath

Very sharp indeed, esp where it matters - the eye!

For all you exif pimps.....
Shot was f3.7 @ 1/50th, iso80. handheld@420mm. Flash -1ev. I was shooting in jpeg and had been playing around with the settings the day before. I think the in camera noise reduction was too high, hence the slight watercolor effect on the feathers. The light was incredibly grey and washed out, hence the flat coloration. This was straight from the camera as I haven't had to time PP the shots yet beyond the re-size and slight sharpen this one got. And yes. Bath does seem to harbour the beautiful ladies. I put it down to the fact that the place is occupied by the Celtic goddess of Minerva

ohh another great shot ghandi, and yeah the feathers almost do look like a painting. I like it though, very nicely done.
