I think I would have to agree with you there Matt. I wasn't sure of the both of them cause the first one isn't very sharp at all I know, and as for the second, maybe choosing just one would have worked better. I'll try that next time. As for where have I been?HMMM where do I begin, lol A couple of reasons. First I have been opening my trailor up for the summer. I've been waiting for that all winter. Those of you who have one would understand completely. Also I almost lost my oldest sister due to complications over something simple gone wrong in the hospital! It's been years since I have spoken with her over a silly dispute up until now, kinda puts things into perspective for someone. Also I have been on the internet looking for a photog site that is more local to me,lol I am really interested in trying to get together with other photogs for a photogathering. Make a day of it or something. Doesn't seem to be that easy though. I belong to another site and most guys out there say they would only go out as a "group" cause of the wifee at home, lol. I can respect that, I have another half too, but trying to get a group together is hard with everyones busy schedules. I just want to get together with like minded folk and learn a little something, most seem to make me feel like I am on the prowl, geewiz!LOL Anyway's in my travels on the ole internet I've come to the conclusion that a photogathering will come in due time with the right people and I seem to learn most from this site here. Also I should say, You and the rest of the admin team should be very proud because this is one of the friendliest sites I've been on. The people here are very helpful no matter what level of expertise and that makes for a great little community. Sometimes I just can't relate though, and there are not many females on here either so I feel outnumbered, lol. I was hoping to find a site here in Toronto and I did but it wasn't like this site here one bit! I've come to know you all here somewhat, and I want to learn as much as I can about photography. The gathering isn't so important anymore so here I am, here to stay, he he.
Cheers, jewel |

Jewel,
good to see you back and hope everything is good with the family now, i personally like your pix of the Tulips, but then i like the study of flowers anyway, lol as for feeling outnumbered thats understandable, there are far more male photographers than female, ( something to do with boyz-toyz i think ) , but as in the motor world, there are females out there that do a cracking job, and are more high profile for it, so keep up the good work, as i for one can see an improvement in your pictures from when u first joined, especially now u have the Nikon MP

Good to hear the family is well Jewel
![]() On the photos only thing I'd say is the colours are a little bit flat. Hope you don't mind but I had a play with levels, highlights and saturation and I think it's brought it out a bit. Having said that it's on my laptop which is horrible for this so I could be speaking rubbish :? ![]() |

Thank you for your comments Steve.
As for not relating, what I meant was certain things that are mentioned in the posts, places people have been, events that are happening around all of you I simply don't know of obviously so I just can't relate in the conversation. You all know certain places and landmarks that are of importance over there that you all may have pictures of, or get together and go to the zoo together and what not. I know when I post a pic I always get back honest feedback. I love that, about these forums. I dont' like forums where everyone replies with a simple "I love it" or "I hate it". Everyone expresses their opinion and takes the time let the person know how they could improve, and I appreciate that very much. The chit chat is very different as well, lol sometimes I don't know if it's just slang or if it's actually how you speak over there. Sorry for my ignorance but it's true, lol. It's not a big deal It's all growing on me and I"ve really come to like these forums. Like I said before I learn a great deal from all of you, thanks. I"ll keep posting piccies.Jewel. ![]() PS, Dod the version you posted there is alot better yes, thanks. Colours are definately more vibrant! Looks great. Funny how one doesn't think the colours are flat until someone shows you something different, lol |
