Warkworth Castle
There's something frustrating about being in lovely surroundings and knowing every conventional shot possible is available on the postcard rack in the shop.
So, did my best to photograph the castle from unusual perspective, resulting in 2 photos. The view out a window of Warkworth itself ![]() Scrawlings on the inside of the kitchen fireplace from 1600s onwards. ![]() C+C welcome |

Re: Warkworth Castle
i kinda like them both, with the first one i feel there is way too much sky in it and the eye gets a bit fed up travelling up the image.
I do like the second one more, its a great idea and a very good image. not sure but it looks a little flat so would be tempted to tweak the tones a teeny bit in curves or levels. |

Re: Warkworth Castle
I'm liking the use of the sky and the window frame - just wish the view was a little more inspiring!
![]() 1600, eh? D'you think 'I love Liz' is a reference to Queen Elizabeth 1?

Re: Warkworth Castle
Thanks all.
Fiona - I'd already played with curves to the point where I felt anything more looked daft but I'd be happy to see your take on it if you were so inclined ![]() Appreciate comments that the view's perhaps not the most inspiring but its a tall order finding something impressive from the most dominating structure for miles around! |
