Wasdale and a variation
Took a trip out to Wasdale on Saturday. All the places I wanted to take a shot from already seemed to have a tog with a tripod set up!
So found a spot of my own and took this. Also tried a bit of processing to create a split toned version. C&C please. Which do you prefer? I notice another Pixalonian was out there this weekend. Almost like someone in my back yard. ![]() Thanks for looking Roger ![]() ![]()

Re: Wasdale and a variation
Hi Roger,
I like the first image best simply because I love the colour the dying bracken gives the scenery. I was in Wasdale Saturday morning at around 0800hrs having slept overnight in Eskdale. When I arrived there was still a lot of low cloud which I guess didn't clear until after I left. Photographically the biggest problem was trying to keep the camper vans and cars out of shot. PS thank heavens for the versitility of RAW It's some 35 years since I was there, then it was still quite remote. I was amazed at the numbers of people there now. I'll post some more images when the five a day limit comes off |

Re: Wasdale and a variation
Thanks Jake,
The best light came later but we were already home by then. It certainly was busy on Saturday and I would have preferred another viewpoint but they seemed to be almost queuing up to take pics. I am lucky I can pop down there in 30 minutes or so. Might try midweek some time. Roger |

Re: Wasdale and a variation
Lovely autumnal feel to #1
Being a sunrise taker (or formerly - I haven't been out for months! ) I found it extremely pleasant to climb some hill and have the place to myself - and then meet everyone else climbing up as I was returning home! Other advantage was that I'd get the full benefit of the best time of day (I think sunrise light edges it over sunset)
