Wasn't quick enough
This little chap is/was a baby who's parents nested in our loft. being brought to the feeders by his parents for some time, he has grown somewhat in confidence and happily flies down to my feet with a little encouragement and a portion of bread crumbs. I know it's nowt flash but probably the best bird shot to date for me, considering it's the 18-55 kit lens.
I was lying down on my stomach on a schorching hot patio to take this, i think it was either the noise of the shutter or my daughter stepping onto the patio that scared it. ![]() Hopefully as it grows it will become less scared. Taken at 55mm and slightly cropped. Ken. |

It’s a great capture of the moment Ken, it’s just a shame that your shutter speed wasn’t a fraction faster to freeze the movement of his head. As he is so young and getting used to you I am sure you will get many more opportunities to photography the little guy. Make sure you stay low at his level as you did here, and just use a slightly faster shutter or some fill in flash and it will be a cracker.
