Re: Waterstones had to start somewhere
Good photography takes you places you have never been or provides a perspective one normally does not get. Yours does both.
Well done. - Paul |

Re: Waterstones had to start somewhere
Thanks Paul. I quite like street markets, they tend to have regular stallholders who are like an extended family, and if you go to the market regularly, you get to know them. I used to work around 100 yards from a market for many years and most lunchtimes when the market was open I used to spend time there.
In case Waterstones are not well known on your side of the pond, over here they are a HUGE bookselling chain. |

Nice image. It has good colour and the symmetry of the two store holders adds a focus to it.

Re: Waterstones had to start somewhere
Great image and good caption! I like the processing too, it looks relatively minimal, but the image still has punch.

I did the first tweaks - WB, and the various levels and contrast etc in Lightroom before using Photoshop to complete it. I have raised the levels under the stall and lowered them on the 'outside'. I had to also process the two women individually as their dark clothing had no detail. I think the image is now balanced reasonably well, and for my level of editing I'm quite pleased with it.

Re: Waterstones had to start somewhere
different, that said your editing looks good. street markets are kinda forgotten unless you are reminded by a picture. We call them flea markets and swap meets here in the US, and least I forget block party, or block sale.
