Wedding #3 - with a twist (56k warning!)

I did another wedding at the weekend at short notice and it was a guy from Newcastle marrying a girl of Asian descent. The wedding ceremony was a civil affair in a hotel which is where these were taken. They have not had the colour space changed so may appear a bit flat but the originals are quite punchy where required.

From the hotel it was on to a restaurant but in the meantime the bride disappeared for an hour and a half to get changed. At the restaurant the bride arrived separately from the groom and I'd just popped outside when I saw the groom and his family crossing the road, this was a quick grab shot as it reminded me of a film, although I don't know which one.

Then came the surprise! It is tradition to have formal portraits of the bride against a black background although nobody had seen fit to tell us. I managed to scrounge a bit of black cloth and with some ingenuity and no small amount of cursing we managed to rig up a makeshift backdrop. The second problem was we didn't have any studio lights so I decided just to go with the Gary Fong LS on the SB800 on top of the camera. I must say I am very impressed with the quality of these for just one gun - let me know if you agree!

A darn site better than alot of wedding photographs I've seen. Superb result. My neighbour Bhavisha is getting engaged this weekend, I now have inspiration

enjoyable series of shots

as much as i like them all . my favourites and the ones I keep wanting to go back to are photo 3 absolutely stunning as i love the little girl capturing her own shots photo 5 to me this tells such a wonderful story on its own. The guys coming across the street ,i agree they do look like they are out of a movie ,to me this one (photo 9) spells out guys on a mission. Number 12 and 13 to me are absolutely gorgeous and love the detail on her dress and head veil , to me the expression tell it all.total credit to you ,am sure they would be delighted with photos

I think that these are all wonderful, out of the ordinary wedding photos. The entire set is worth looking at not just for a wedding set, but because these are terrific photos in their own right.

And I love the Gary Fong diffusor. I never shoot flash without it, even wireless.
