Weekend Walk
Following on from "what are you going to photographing at the weekend", I mentioned that I'd be going for a walk with some photography friends on the Sunday. It's rare for me to be walking without the dogs, it was a bit strange but far easier for picture taking!
Although there was some interest along the route I found it a little hard to be inspired and am a bit disappointed with the results as a consequence. My usual pictures tend to mainly of the dogs/animals and flowers! Here are probably the 'best' of a bad bunch. Thistle Seedhead ![]() Up the Garden Path (and it was some garden!) ![]() Riverside Path ![]() Paxhill Place ![]() I ummed and ahhed about whether to include this one below, the more I look the worse it seems! I sort of liked the idea but I seem to have cocked it up good and proper! My lack of pp skills are really letting me down here too, I just can't get those blown highlights down... (because I don't really know what I am doing ). ![]() All comments, as ever, gratefully received

#1 - really nice texture and colour
![]() #3 - could do with less tree, more sky (1/3 tree, 2/3 sky)

Re: Weekend Walk
So know what you mean about not being inspired, despite having the opportunity! I've been out walking all day and never taken a single shot!
![]() Nice symmetry in #2 - I might've been tempted to get a low perspective to reduce the amount of gravel and increase the trees I like the 'looking in' nature of #5. Burned highlights are always an impossibility - if you get them they can't really be 'treated', only cloned out (not an option here). Some don't find them a problem but I usually find them distracting if very obvious and fundemental to a shot (sunrise/sets). Here I think they're peripheral and, although it would've made the light interesting to reduce the exposure (exposure compensation), they're not overwhelming the shot

Re: Weekend Walk
Looks like you had a fun walk--bet you did miss the dogs. I always miss mine when I go out without them.
As for the pictures #2 is my favorite. Makes me want to take a walk down the road. |
