Re: Welsh Springer Spaniel

I like this one! Totally diferent viewpoint to what you normally see of a dog. Like the silhouette, the only thing I might change is to try and stop the light causing such a change in tone on the LHS. Some might like this, but I would prefer a cleaner image, with all the tones dark like on the RHS.

Good shot, your images are consistently high quality!

Re: Welsh Springer Spaniel

Thanks for the comments. I think it is so difficult to take a photograph of a dog in a different way, so usually they end up as snap shots. I was very pleased with the way this one turned out. As for the light on the LHS, im not sure. I played around in photoshop (burn tool?) but i felt it was then too dark. With something this dark, i think it is difficult to strike that balance.

I know what you mean. I just had a quick go, so there are some mistakes, but you can see how I meant it:

Did you use the burn tool?

Re: Welsh Springer Spaniel

I used a combination of a gradient overlay layer, set to soft light coming from the LHS, and the burn tool (badly) to darken some areas further.
