I like the first three very much, #3 just proves that rules are there to be broken.

Can't say why but number 2 does it for me. Simple but I like it.
3 is quite good too. 1 and 4 are nicely photographed but don't press my buttons. thanks for sharing. |

Anyway - fwiw ... 1 & 2 - I like ... my kinda shots - lovely and so well executed ! 3 - I cannot make up my mind about ... the concept is great and generally speaking I do like - but too much blue I think ... and is the tree and foreground slightly on the squiff or is this how it was ! 4 - Not as striking as theo thers but as I like close-ups this also I like. Brickwork slightly overdsaturated perhaps ? And ... btb your kinda drives I like ! ![]() |

2nd for me aswell
![]() 1st nice detail, and crisp throughout the tones. 2nd - love the DOF, nice and sharp fore, turning to a nice soft blur for the background. Makes this my favourite of the bunch 3rd I like despite breaking the rules but the trees slight angle make me wonder if that slope its on is natural, or if it was tilted slightly to give you the slope. Other than that query thought I like the wide view and the location of the tree works for me ![]() 4th Just doesn't do anything for me if I'm honest - but thats just me ![]() Great pics

The first two say “golden summer days” and then the third is a complete contrast with its cold blue colours and wide open empty space. All three are equally good though. I think you need to clone out the slight “blur/blotch” on the bottom left of three though, that’s ever so slightly distracting once you have seen it. You have managed to make that illusive abstract work in number 4, something that I admire and hat you for!!
![]() Really good set of photos again mate. ![]() |

Thanks for the comments/feedback folks.
Steve - you're the second to notice that blotch, I didn't and don't know what it is, I'll need to check the RAW file. I suspect it might just be a shadow on the hill side but I'm not sure. The tree in the third is as it was, the slope is genuine. Gemok, you should see the ones which didn't work. Despite great light and good locations I still managed to mess up the composition of what could have been some really nice shots. I also missed the first shot of the day because I forgot to cancel the mirror lockup It was a roe deer about 20 feet from the car and it didn't move even after I stopped the car and put down the window. I tried to take the pic, it heard the click and took off. Never mind, there's always another day ![]() |

Phew, so I'm not the only one who forgets to disable mirror lockup on an alarmingly frequent basis.
That blotch on #3 I noticed it too and was going to ask if it was either smoke or a smudge or something, but I was in a rush, and never got chance to ask. |

sensor is a bit dirty, but so is mine, so im not moaning!
Rules are meant to be broken, and #3 shows that sometimes it works fine! the first 3 are the best ones for me, not feeling #4 at all! #1 has lovely colouring, the gradient getting warmer as it comes down the frame #2 screams summer to me, simple and effective #3 works cos of the bold tree against the lighter bacground, works good! |

but other than that I think you've got a very pleasant set of shots there. I'd be inclined to try a conversion to B&W on the final shot to see what might be drawn out in the way of texture. |

This is the original shot of the third, as soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted the final version to look like That smudge is still there, even more pronounced, the processing has actually hidden it a bit.![]() |
