Westminster Skyline image
I have moved this to here from the Critique thread because it is heavily processed and is not really possible to critique in terms of photography. I tlike the image though so would still like your impressions of it simply as a picture.
Thanks, Rob

Re: Westminster Skyline image
I know what you mean Monkeydave but then it IS heavily post-processed and it makes no claims to being a photograph per se. Actually other then the outlining, the rest is photographic with just tinting and contrast adjustment but I was aiming for a picture, not a photographic, hence the reason I moved it here from the Critique thread as I didn't want to put it out there as a photograph as such.
Appreciate the thoughts and comments, it is only a picture and that inervitably means it will all come down to taste in the end. I just fancied trying something a little different for a change :o) Thanks for your comment Fi, I thought I'd follow your example and step outside the box a bit and go for something atypical of my normal style :o) Cheers, Rob

Re: Westminster Skyline image
Hi Rob,
I wanted to comment on this before and seemed to loose it. Ah here it is, It grabs you when you see it as an outline and black. My taste would have been to have a darker frame, or an extra dark frame around the blue one. For some insight, I am moved to try a slight glow or blur inside of the outlines,,or back off on the luminosity of the outline, just my take,,,I do like the picture and where you are trying to take it. I can see how some kind of directional moon light shining down to highlight the outlines would fit. |

Re: Westminster Skyline image
Thanks all for the helpful comments. I know what some mean by a lean but actually it is not far off vertical. It is a bit of an illusion because you are looking diagonally across the river here. I chose to get Big Ben exactly straight up and let the House of Commons lean very slightly inward (though about blowing it up altogether but thought better of it
)I like the idea of using a blur to make the outlines more of a glow, I'll have a look at that, thanks. Cheers all, I'll experiment some more ![]() Rob |
