What a difference 18 months makes...

This is a shot of our youngster Zeus taken 18 months ago when he was a scraggy adolescent....

And this is him this week after a lot of hard work by Jan over the last few months - grooming, long reining, backing etc (but still a long way to go)...

Being a youngster the toys still get thrown out of the pram at times....

Re: What a difference 18 months makes...

That's quite a transformation Colin, lovely colouring and posture... congrats to Jan for all the hard work that's really paying off.

This really remind's me of the job my partner's been doing with her pride and joy aswell, bought as a scraggy scared young foal and raised into quite a stunning animal, also almost at the point of breaking her in (in a couple of months from now).

If I can find an old and new comparison I'll post it up if you don't mind, after folks have had time to see yours of course.

Is that you as a scraggy adolescent with Zeus in the first shot, Colin? Only, I can see a resemblance to your avatar

You can see his potential in that first shot but he really has come on amazingly! Fantastic outline! Just out of interest, do you know his breeding?

Thanks for all the comments. Angela, the sire is Mooiman who is apparently tipped for the Irish Olympic Dressage Team, when we went to see him I was astounded at how calm he was for a stallion and his offspring have excellent trainability, on the Dam side I believe there is some Lauries Crusader in there but my wife isn't here to confirm.

Cathie, yes it is his winter coat but he was still a scruffy git and completely unhandled when he turned up at our place last year.
