Whipsnade - Peacock

The girlfriend and I took a trip over to Whipsnade Wild Animal Park on Monday and allthough rain stopped play once or twice for a short time we both had a good day... and I managed to come away with a few pics I'm happy with

While there was the usual atractions like the Lions, Tigers and Bears (Oh My!

) there were also a few of these guys wandering about...

About time we got a bit of colour in around here

Nice shots, both of them, good detail, very noisy, the peacocks not the photos, I remember doing a wedding at a country place and staying over night, 6.00am I had these bloody things screaching outside the window.

Nicely isolated!

My brother used to live in a village with a "wild" peacock (well, no one owned it - it wandered free)

Wonderful detail on them!!!!
I like the second one the best, although I think I would crop it in closer. Really pick out the detail round the head and eye.

Really lovely Iain!

I remember being at a NT place once where a peacock was strutting his stuff with his tail all on display....until I got the camera out and he promptly folded his tail up, not to be seen again that afternoon!

This guy was pretty quiet, too busy looking for some grub! Unfortunately he didn't get his tail out at all, at least you got to see it Angela

Dabhand - Sorry mate, it was a last minute decision, it was between that or some horse show (and I'm pretty sick of horses at the moment

). I'll definately drop you a PM when we decide to go back... might try to get some other's to go aswell, it's about time we had a "Pixalo get together"

Found a couple more after looking through the "Whipsnade" folder... I'll try and continue the series with a few other animals as I planned (if I ever get the time

what did you do, hire a helicopter? Good shots though. Come to think of it, other than the colour and feathers they're ugly b*****s.

Lol, no mate, the g/f lives just outside London, I spend a week every month over there so we just drove up
