Wide weather.

I don't get out as much as I should with my camera so having acquired a 12-24 I sneaked these while my wife was shopping in Skipton. Weird weather - maybe a portent for tomorrow. TFL.

Re: Wide weather.

Gorgeous skies [No1 in particular], I like the 'big sky' type photo.Would a crop halfway from base to the dyke helps No1 and remove that longer vegetation on base right. In any case No1 for me is a very good image with lovely light on the distant hills.

Re: Wide weather.

Nice set. I think No 1 is really good and I quite like the crop. I also like the patch of sun light on the hills in the distance. 2 and 3 are also nice but I find I am becoming very sensitive to the condensation trails that appear in many pictures now days. I know there is not much that you can do about these but the straight lines running through skyscapes look so unnatural to me and my eye keeps being drawn to them.

I second that AQ - the con trails are getting in everywhere these days.

Re: Wide weather.

I like this series and think the second shot is the strongest. I would have moved to the end of the lay-by and taken it from there using the same low down position. This would have given you smoother lead in lines by removing the curve from the right hand side. I would also imagine that shot from that position it would be necessary to clone out the road sign as it would have been more prominent, from this position though, its small enough not to impose.

Re: Wide weather.

Thanks for looking and for comments. To be honest I was just pleased to get the exposure right for the sky and yet keep some detail in the shadows.

Re: Wide weather.

The patch of sunlight in the distance makes #1, but the effect is excellent on them all.
