Re: The Wild Pear Sundowner
The sunset light pulls you right around the corner, your filter gives it a realistic feel. I would have been temped to mask the white back in slightly in the tree..But thats what I will use filters in PS for even though I don't use them much. This is a very good effect. It's like my favorite time of day. The sun will go down, then reflected light bouncing off the hemisphere will follow right behind giving you some very soft lighting to work with.

Re: The Wild Pear Sundowner
Like this one, but agree about masking back the white.
Also, you didn't happen to place the pear tree against the sunset or do something with it at all did you? I feel it's a little lost here and wondered if you'd singled it out in another shot? |

Re: The Wild Pear Sundowner
I think there are two pics here but both involving the pear tree (which is the interesting and more unique feature) with the sky acting in a support role. In the existing comp, I'd have liked to have seen more sky along the top - probably by taking the pic from a lower perspective (keeping the pear tree against the contrasting green BG). But the 2nd shot is more like this:

Re: The Wild Pear Sundowner
once again brilliant posts - thanks guys
masking back white - good call Steven sorry Jack/Mark no other shots - my mistake , the tree does deserves a bit more space / less cluttered bg some food for thought - this is what I love , hearing other points of view Last edited by b.van_der_dylan; 06-07-2008 at 22:14. |
