Re: Wimbledon 2008
I think they're a reasonable set. Like number 2 the best.
Not being a sports photographer I can only hazard a guess to improve the sharpness you need to get the shutter speed up, maybe increasing the ISO or using a wider aperture (eg F5.6 as opposed to F16) Not sure what you used. |

Re: Wimbledon 2008
i think you need a proper telephoto lens with with a low numbered aperture. but you would have to buy a new slr for that

Re: Wimbledon 2008
Nice set.
One thing with sport is to try and include the ball in the shot.......providing it's a ball sport of course

Re: Wimbledon 2008
P-E has beat me to it but as soon as I saw these shots in the gallery I had the exact same thought: where's the ball? Without that they feel disconnected and inactive so worth pulling back a little and capturing the ball in the shot. I would also not crop so tightly and would go for a wide open aperture to reduce the depth of field so the BG is blurred but you may not have the facilities to do that. The last one has cropped the top of his hair which doesn't help at all, we want to see the whole person in the shot or a significant crop.
Well done on capturing these as you have, you have learnt something very important: sports photography is by no means an easy genre! It takes good equipment, a photographer's pass so you can get into different positions, good timing .... and a lot of luck ![]() Cheers, Rob
