Re: Winter Blossom
We may in the depths of winter but spring's not that far off, I saw some snowdrop type plants growing (not flowering yet) in a sheltered area of the Yorkshire Sculpture Park last week.

Re: Winter Blossom
It is precisely because of wonderful colours like these in winter that I could never live in a perpetual summer place! Sunshine is fine but all year round? No thanks, give me the wonderful variety in nature that we see because of the changing climate.
Foxes, hope you don't mind, I have just adjusted the contrast slightly as it seemed a bit flat. I know you took it on a dreary day so that is what was there at the time. Not wanting to change history, just boost the picture a bit ![]() Enjoyed the picture and reminds me of all that I love about this time of year. Cheers, Rob

Re: Winter Blossom
Nice tweak Rob!
Skip I dont feel unfortunate here, you have to experience winter to appreciate summer and vice versa, I spent a couple of years in Egypt in my young days, the constant sun became quite a bore. In this country the constantly changing weather conditions And the great variety of scenary are a deligt to me thanks for the feedback David. |

Re: Winter Blossom
Jeez....I was just trying to needle you poor sods who spend a lifetime under grey skies, and carry a 'brolly around 24/7, and you are burying me.
On a serious note, yes, I do miss seasons, but not scraping the ice from my windscreeen. This is seriously off topic now. skip skip |

But ok, I'll grant you that, I don't like scraping ice from my windscreen..... so i never do! I just take down a bottle of tepid water, pour it over the windows and off I go. Never can understand why people use de-icer which damages paintwork when tepid water does the exact same thing, costs nothing and doesn't damage the paintwork! Ok, I think we are about as off-topic as we can get without talking about pink elephants under red stripey umbrellas so let's let Foxes have his thread back ![]() Cheers, Rob Rob (Well, thought I'd name myself twice too, see if it starts a trend <g>) |
