Woodland Walk
Few shots from my walk at Twywell Hills & Dales in Northamptonshire today. Nice walk, nice place, but dim volunteer ranger. He asked us if we picked up after our dogs, yes I said & showed multitude of bags. He then said that he'd just seen the dog do a poo which we'd not picked up! Daft bloke didn't realise that lady dogs stoop to pee, we explained this, but he still had to check, see there was no poo & then watched us for ages
![]() Anyway, here are a couple of shots. ![]() ![]() |

Re: Woodland Walk
Thanks, Andy liked the post and said to try it, but this hasn't quite worked, it doesn't stand out enough, so I will go back to it & make it work

Re: Woodland Walk
Yes I would agree about the tone, Andy pointed that out to me
Needs a bit of a tweak in RAW. Like the mono, unusually for me, but I love colour. |

Re: Woodland Walk
Love woods. The 1st I can see what you were aiming for with that wonderful lead in of both tree and boards together but the tree leads out the way, the boards go on to that nice patch of sunlit trees ahead and then all the stuff on the right of the path is not really doing anything or interacting with other bits of the pic. I reckon that twisty branch coming off the trunk of the big tree probably would work as a good lead in if you shot at a slightly different angle, I can see path and branch converging, if that makes sense.
I actually quite like #2, though I think I'd have framed it up slap bang in the middle and maybe even have cropped out anything either side to make a long thin pic. Good work ![]()

Re: Woodland Walk
Nice shots, like #1 as for the ranger ever thought of posting him a surprise present.

Re: Woodland Walk
The first one is a great advert for going out for a walk in the woods! Lovely shot. I agree about the second one, just doesn't quite grab me. But never mind, I'll just keep looking at No1

Re: Woodland Walk
Thanks for comments and critique, much appreciated. Always interesting to see how others view your work.
Post the ranger a present, now that's an idea! I could put a label on it saying this is poo ![]() |

Re: Woodland Walk
No.1 for me, preference for the original colour version, but the mono works just as well
![]() Ranger-type person sounds a bit vague... Perhaps diagrams would have been useful in that situation! |
