XC portraits.
Slightly different set from me this time, after shooting the racing I managed to pluck up the courage to approach some of the top placed athletes and ask if it was O/K to get a shot and being a really nice bunch of lads they all agreed. all with 50mm lens and fill flash.

Re: XC portraits.
They're not the most photogenic chaps in the world. Your photography's good though, having been to a number of triathlons I can vouch for the fact that you've caught the spirit of these kinds of events. Well done for plucking up the courage to speak to them, it's really paid off.

Re: XC portraits.
I think it's good you've captured them just after finishing...you can see the exhaustion & pain in their faces....great stuff
. Something to note for next time, is to always watch out for distractions in the background (eg. shot 3 & 5), which if possible just move that foot or so, to remove it. Fair play for having the guts to ask to photograph them.....I expect it has boosted your confidence no end for next time |

Thanks Dan.
Cheers Dave, I take your point about the backgrounds. |

Re: XC portraits.
Blimey, if you found your milk had curdled, it could well be that number 5 looked at it! Strewth, if that is what running does for you, I'm sticking to being a couch potato :o)
Good shots though, well done :o) Cheers, Rob |
