Re: York Revisited
Wow!! Love the first one
2nd one seems a little oversaturated, 3rd has a lot of fringeing. Fab detail in them all |

Re: York Revisited
Thanks Charlotte.
I don't particularly like the first one but it was the first shot of the day I see what you mean about the second one HDR effort and I keep forgetting to keep a check on the saturation.Vignetting was added in CS on the third one

Re: York Revisited
No, I mean fringeing on the edges of buildings (particularly the chimneys) + branches of trees in the 3rd one. Still a lovely pic. But the 1st one's my favourite - really like the compo, angle of view, viewpoint + perspective

Re: York Revisited
P-E, love your work. Thanks for bringing back the memories of York from so many years ago. It's a lovely place. I recall walking around that wall.

Nice work P-E, I have exactly the same shot as your #1 from a few weeks back.

Re: York Revisited
Cheers Stephono.
I hope you got a better sky than the one I got. I looked for the busker with the piano but he wasn't there .......must have taken a holiday with the money you dropped in his hat the other week

Re: York Revisited
I like the first but compositionally I would prefer the viewpoint to be from as far to the right as you can get so as not to compress the wall so much and to make the wall more the leading line to the Minster beyond rather than the road though I can entirely appreciate why you have chosen to use the wall on one side, the path in the middle and the grass bank on the other side as the lead line. It just makes the wall feel a bit squashed.
2nd one is ok but I guess it is a bit too similar to the ones we have seen before from you of internal church shots. Lovely shot but I just felt I had seen it already. Third shot the vignette is too heavy for me. having said that I need to see it at home as my work computer is always darker than it should be so might be better when I see it later. Good to see some experimentation with HDR ![]() Cheers, Rob
