Continuing from yesterday, a few more shots from Sunday morning......... a couple with Canon zoom as well! The first two

#1 Rat Snack
'Nuff said!

#2 Royal Flyby
Emperor dragonfly

#3 Blue on Red
Common Blue (female) on a flower

#4 Blue on Yellow
Common Blue (female) on flower

#5 Blue on Yellow
Common Blue (female) on flower

Haha!

What a brilliant photo #1 is! You don't see vermin eating vermin too often

#2 more pleasing than yesterdays flight photos.

#3 and 4 fine sharp photos - find myself cocking my head on 4.

Hard to choose the best they are all great shots. If pressed I would go for 1 and 2 jointly.

Which Canon zoom?

Well, seeing as seagulls are the Universal Dustbins we shouldn't be surprised, I guess, Malcolm!

75-300mm EFII, John. Prone to CA on contrasty shots @ 300mm but fine if you keep within certain boundaries (like all camera gear really!

Good shots, I especially like the butterflies.

I was at Cosmeston on Sunday morning, were you the guy near the Dragonfly pond for an hour or two while I was trying to get some shots of flying Emperors with a big white Canon 100-400?

Never been there before but we were having a long weekend in Cardiff and when the weather looked so nice decided to get some country air - chose Cosmeston partly because I'd seen some of your previous posts from there.

You did better than me anyway, I did get a few flying Dragons and will probably post a couple when I get a chance.

They are all super - these macro shots always leave me with gaping mouth.
I especially like No.2.

Great set, nice and sharp. Think I might have been tempted to crop a little more off the top of #1 - is the gull having ratatouille?

#2 for me, I like the composition, the letter box format and the uncluttered background. Excellent!

I did wonder about coming over (and would if I'd known it was you), but you looked pretty focussed and I didn't want to disturb you. A couple of years ago I'd spent about 30 minutes watching a gorgeous dragonfly patrolling, had finally moved in to one of the spots that it frequented and was patiently waiting for it to return. It did, I was focussing when some guy wandered over to chat to me about lenses and scared the thing away.

Anyway, I've finally posted a couple of my shots ...
