Congratulations this week to Pentaxbuff
for this very surreal image

We have had fourteen pages of photographs in the last week and boy, was it hard to pick out a Photo of the Week. However, there has to be one, and Pentaxbuff’s shot manages to show an excellent sky balanced by a close-up feature, excellent colour without burnt highlights and plenty of detail in the shadows. Thanks for the congratulations!
This pic was simply taken slightly off and behind a man-made "rock" while the sun was setting, looking over the St Lawrence river.
I did lighten up the rock with PS but the sunset and clouds are real! This is what we have here, quite often, in Rivière du Loup, Québec (Canada)... 2nd most beautiful sunsets in the world. Who's first?

Well, we've the 2nd highest tides in the world (Penarth where I live, just across from Cardiff) and you've the highest just around the corner in Nova Scotia - so, can we be the #1 sunsets?
