BenQ FP241W
BenQ FP241W Monitor
Just had my new monitor delivered and I've finally found a monitor that does justice to Photographs, Ive tried several others of which had great reviews, but when I got my hands on them they disappointed , great for general computer use but when it comes to photo's etc they fail to impress, not so with this beauty. Upon opening the box the size of the monitor was a bit overwhelming but don't let that put you off because when you install it and see the stunning picture quality the size will be a distant memory, all the usual inputs are there DVi / D Sub / Component etc also USB2 inputs so you can cut down on wires to the tower or Hub (check out some reviews for full specs). I had to calibrate it before I got the tonal quality I wanted but other than that its pretty much plug and play, the only niggly thing I can say about the monitor is that they put the menu buttons etc on the side panel and is a bit fiddly when adjusting colours or anything else for that matter , its a little pricey at £450 but in my opinion well worth the extra few quid.

Re: BenQ FP241W
The first one I tried was an AMW 19" affair, a friend of mine recommended it to me as he was into photography and was pleased with it so I give it a go, It was circa £150 and in all fairness it wasn't rubbish but the lack of inputs etc and the overall general design, needless to say it didn't stay that long. The last one I tried was a Dell Ultrasharp 2007wfp, having been to hasty with my first selection I took a bit of time out to review some models
and the Dell appeared to be a good choice, it ticked all of the boxes, but when I set it up I wasn't happy with Photo's/pictures it seamed like they made a 20" monitor but give it the same amount of pixels as a 17" but made them bigger, if you can make any sense of that (just my interpretation of what was happening as I dont know how these things are made ), when I cropped pictures they pixelated/degraded far quicker also there was this little annoying flicker going on in the background like the refresh rate wasn't right but it was set up right, so hence that one went back to Dell and how I ended up with the BenQ but I'm happy with this one
